SAANS Bubble CPAP System

Each year, around two million newborns die globally, primarily in emerging markets. Studies indicate that non-invasive breathing support like Bubble CPAP System could be a life-saving intervention for ~80% of these cases. Access to the required therapies, however, are limited as the use of existing breathing support technologies are limited to tertiary care Neonatal ICUs.

Frequently Asked Questions

SAANS is an intelligent, non-invasive breathing support system developed by InnAccel Technologies for neonatal and pediatric care. It combines multiple respiratory support therapies in one digital platform and is designed for use in clinical as well as transport settings. The system aims to expand access to respiratory support by reducing dependence on complex external infrastructure.

SAANS provides four major therapy modes in a single device: Bubble CPAP, nasal or flow-driven CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula therapy and resuscitation support. This multi-therapy design can reduce the need for separate equipment for different stages of neonatal or pediatric respiratory care, while giving clinicians a common digital interface for setting and monitoring treatment parameters

SAANS is designed for neonatal and pediatric patients who require non-invasive breathing support. It can be used in settings such as labour rooms, stabilisation units, special newborn care units, neonatal intensive care units, pediatric intensive care units and appropriate transport environments. Therapy mode and settings must be selected by trained professionals according to the patient’s clinical condition and the approved instructions for use.

SAANS includes an in-built air source and air-oxygen blending capability. It is compatible with both high- and low-pressure oxygen sources, including central oxygen lines, cylinders and oxygen concentrators. This design reduces reliance on an external air compressor and allows the system to be deployed across a wider range of hospitals, care units and transport environments. The device also includes in-built battery backup.

SAANS uses in-built sensors to monitor  flow, pressure and oxygen concentration. The system displays both set and actual values and provides alarms when monitored parameters deviate from the intended range. Digital control and continuous monitoring help caregivers deliver more accurate therapy parameters, compared to purely mechanical Bubble CPAP systems.

Yes. SAANS is designed for intrahospital and interhospital transport as well as ICU use. The device is lightweight, portable and includes an in-built battery backup to support up to six hours of operation. Its resuscitation mode can also deliver blended air and oxygen, which may support short-term transport or stabilisation workflows when used by trained clinical personnel.

Hospitals, neonatal care centres, distributors and healthcare organisations can contact InnAccel Technologies for SAANS product information, pricing and demonstrations. SAANS is manufactured by InnAccel Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a Bangalore-based medical device company. The company can provide guidance on therapy configurations, oxygen-source compatibility, deployment requirements and staff training for appropriate clinical use.
